Before this podcast began Mara said that this caused massive panic and chaos. I think that Donald trump should of at least sent out a "heads up" type of thing to warn the immigrants about his order. This would've organised the order and would've made it less confused for the people in the airports.
During this podcast she said that it isn't in our abilities to know when Canada will "overtake" us, but at this point it is inevitable and it will happen. I interpreted that as her saying we deserve it, because over the past 70+ years there have been things we could've done but we didn't in order to make our nation run better. I agree that instead of just suddenly springing on everybody, the ban, there should have definitely been some sort of knowledge about it before hand.
In this podcast, the woman said that after WWII, the U.S. realized that we could have done more during the Holocaust. She said that we deliberately adopted this mantel of being a country that would welcome refugees. I find it very interesting how we've gone from realizing that we could have done more, to creating an executive order that will prevent refugees from entering the U.S for a certain amount of time.. Now because of the order, this idea is created that the U.S. isn't obligated to intervene in other country's problems and be involved with them.
